Experiences of the Workplace

At Darton Academy we try to provide a range of experiences of the workplace, where we can. We offer virtual work experience opportunities, as well as bespoke physical experiences when opportunities arise. Students in the past have undertaken virtual medical work experience, while others have attended virtual and physical work experience with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Leeds.

When on-line opportunities arise, there is a link sent to students where they can register, if they wish, in order to access work place information and experiences. Students are alerted to these via their school e-mail. In 2024/5 we are looking to offer a number of opportunities relating to apprenticeships and the new T Levels where students will access workshops and webinars.  This will be backed by the Academies association with the Sheffield Careers Hub.

Darton Academy has an ongoing agreement with our enterprise link, Premdor, and other external providers so that we can take groups of students to visit places of work in order to widen their experiences.

Over the academic year, we will be giving the students a range of experiences with external providers  to broaden their horizons and outlooks in relation to the world of work
