On Friday 1 May we launched our whole-school attendance initiative, which takes place during the month of May, entitled “Donut miss a day in May.”
Regular school attendance is essential in ensuring that students achieve their full potential. Each lesson supports the development of knowledge, skills and confidence, and absence can lead to gaps in learning that impact attainment and progress over time. As a school, we are committed to promoting excellent attendance and recognising those students who demonstrate consistent dedication.
As part of this initiative, all students received an attendance card on Friday. Each day a student attends school, their card will be signed by their form tutor.

At the end of the half term, students who achieve full attendance throughout the month will:
- Receive a donut treat in recognition of their commitment
- Be entered into a prize draw to win additional donut-themed rewards
This initiative is designed to encourage positive attendance habits and to celebrate students who attend regularly, as well as those who are working to overcome barriers to attendance.
We would greatly appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of daily attendance with your child. Should your child be unwell, please continue to follow the school’s usual absence reporting procedures.
